Waterberg Berries is a proud Ozblu farmer situated in the majestic Waterberg range of Limpopo, South Africa. “Customer First” is their motto. Using the latest technology and the best consultants and knowledge, Waterberg Berries strives to achieve optimal production with the least impact on the environment. Waterberg Berries loves what they do – sustainably produce superior quality blueberries.
A solar pump and solar geysers at the staff accommodation provide renewable energy.
Driving is limited to only necessary trips and the speed cap is limited to 20 km/h on the farm.
To ensure optimal irrigation management, Waterberg Berries measures drainage levels on a daily basis.
Waterberg Berries supports soil health and biodiversity by allowing natural vegetation to thrive between orchard rows. The farm tracks its carbon values annually to monitor progress and improvement. Fertiliser use is guided by recommendations from a skilled agronomy team to ensure responsible and efficient application.
A 270-ha area is left uncultivated for conservation. They also practice Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and clear invasive alien vegetation annually.
A local business recycles Waterberg Berries’ glass, paper and cartons, and organic waste is composted on the farm.
