Morester Farming is a table grape farm with diverse varieties in black, red and white seedless cultivars. Morester Farming is situated west of Piketberg, about 140km from Cape Town. Table grapes have been grown on the farm since the early 1990s and the farm was recently handed over to new owners.

Many of Morester Farmings’ practices are helping to reduce their carbon footprint. This is being achieved through the implementation of irrigation systems, monitoring diesel usage, utilizing 2 or 4 wheel motorcycles instead of pick-ups, and sourcing reliable companies for recyclable packaging material such as pallets.

Morester Farming makes use of probes and tension meters to asses when irrigation is needed. Utilising computerized systems prevents over and underwatering of crops, therefore, no unnecessary water is wasted. Water is used sparingly and crops are healthy and delivering best yields.
Morester Farming sells all organic waste (berries) to a local winery and all organic vineyard waste is used as mulch.
Soil analysis is performed bi-annually at Morester Farming, the farm makes use of cover crops, semi-organic fertilizer, as well as organic bio-stimulants in the soil.
Morester Farming sets aside land for conservation with small game, employees are trained in biodiversity and equipment for pest management, environmental friendly programs are implemented.
Through this digital recognition platform, we celebrate the Carbon Heroes taking part in the Confronting Climate Change (CCC) Initiative for their considerable effort in calculating and understanding their carbon emissions.

The QR code provides a simple and innovative way for customers to learn about each Carbon Hero’s carbon offsetting and other sustainability initiatives, as well as engage with them on social media and other marketing channels.
With the Carbon Heroes QR code we aim to support a global transition towards sustainable development by recognising and celebrating the positive environmental impact of each Carbon Hero. By having a transparent display of their commitment to reducing emissions, Carbon Heroes demonstrate their dedication to a sustainable future, while building trust in their brand.
