Montagu is situated in the Little Karoo, where the famous Route 62 begins. Montagu is surrounded by mountains and the different valleys add to the complexity of the wines. Montagu Winery has turned partly to solar power as an alternative energy source from 2021. Grape suppliers of Montagu Winery are turning to more biological practices and regenerative farming has become more common recently.
