Located in southeastern Brazil, MBR is a certified fruit exporter specializing also in high-quality Thaiti limes and other citrus products. Since 2004, the company has shipped fruits globally, catering to Europe, Canada, and the Middle East with weekly deliveries. MBR sources its products from the Brazilian citrus belt, home to Latin America’s largest continuous irrigation project. This initiative supports sustainable farming practices, including optimized irrigation and eco-friendly techniques, while contributing to local communities and ensuring excellence in service, reliability, and product quality.
At MBR, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint through sustainable practices, including optimized irrigation systems that minimize water waste and eco-friendly agricultural techniques that limit the use of agrochemicals. The Confronting Climate Change carbon calculator is a vital tool for us, enabling precise measurement of our greenhouse gas emissions. This data helps us identify areas for improvement, implement targeted sustainability strategies, and demonstrate transparency and accountability to our customers and partners – MBR
MBR uses energy-efficient systems in their operations, and the packhouses are designed to minimize energy consumption, aligning with sustainable practices.
MBR optimizes fuel use by employing efficient logistics planning, reducing unnecessary transportation, and encouraging the use of vehicles with lower emissions for farm operations.

MBR optimizes water use through advanced irrigation systems, including drip irrigation and real-time monitoring, ensuring precise water application. These initiatives reduce waste, enhance water efficiency, and support sustainable farming practice
MBR has implemented a comprehensive waste management system, recycling inorganic materials like plastics and metals while reusing organic waste as compost, reducing landfill.
Soil health is ensured through regenerative practices such as composting.
MBR promotes biodiversity by setting aside conservation areas, practicing integrated pest management, and maintaining natural vegetation corridors.
Through this digital recognition platform, we celebrate the Carbon Heroes taking part in the Confronting Climate Change (CCC) Initiative for their considerable effort in calculating and understanding their carbon emissions.
Each Carbon Hero has their own digital QR code that can be displayed on their website and other marketing material, linking directly to their individual profile on the Carbon Heroes website.
The QR code provides a simple and innovative way for customers to learn about each Carbon Hero’s carbon offsetting and other sustainability initiatives, as well as engage with them on social media and other marketing channels.
With the Carbon Heroes QR code we aim to support a global transition towards sustainable development by recognising and celebrating the positive environmental impact of each Carbon Hero. By having a transparent display of their commitment to reducing emissions, Carbon Heroes demonstrate their dedication to a sustainable future, while building trust in their brand.

Carbon Heroes is a recognition platform built on the ethos of transparency and trust. While only emissions datasets graded by Blue North qualify for the platform, we do not independently verify all the information our Heroes choose to post. By signing up to the platform each Carbon Hero acknowledges that they are responsible for the information they share and that, by sharing their sustainability credentials, their information is in the public domain and open to be scrutinised. We welcome such scrutiny. We have a clear set of guidelines for the use of the platform and the qualification for the various digital labels, and reserve the right to revoke the use of the platform where it is found these guidelines are not being followed and/or the information posted is misaligned with the stated ethos.
