Agristar, a fourth-generation family farm founded in 1948, began with sugarcane and subtropical fruit in Mpumalanga. Today, they specialise in high-quality tree nuts, with the founder among the first to plant macadamias in the region and a founding member of SAMAC. For over 50 years, Agristar has proudly contributed to South Africa’s thriving tree nut industry.
With the use of probes in the orchard, Agristar manages optimal irrigation.
Soil Health
Agristar enhances soil health by using home-brewed effective microorganisms, composting, cover crops and mulch. Trichoderma is applied to support root growth and suppress harmful pathogens.
Biodiversity
Agristar supports biodiversity through dedicated bee gardens and the preservation of natural ecological areas. A biological, organic IPM program is used to manage pests sustainably.
